Meeting Sophie Nov. 14

We went to the Xin Hui orphanage and met Sophie and Mrs Feng the orphanage director. She is such a caring lady who really loves all the children in her care. She doesn't speak English, so we had our guide interpret for us. The boys got to play with a few of the children outside in the courtyard and on the playground. Mrs Feng said Sophie goes for physical therapy, but her progress has been very slow. She was able to look at us and make eye contact and definitely knew we were there. She is still very weak and they have been trying to get her strong enough to sit up. It was wonderful to be able to hold and feed her. I know she is getting great care where she is and you could tell Mrs Feng loves her. At one point we were both in tears as we just watched Sophie drink her bottle as I fed her. We continue to pray for a miracle that Sophie's mind and body will be healed. We pray Sophie will receive the knowledge of Christ and someday she will be in glory with a new body rejoicing in the goodness of our Lord. It was so great to be able to visit Xin Hui and now I will be able to picture where Sophie is and know she is being loved and cared for.

I am sooo glad that you were able to meet Sophie. I am so glad that she was able to make eye contact. What a wonderful experience. I can just imagine how hard that was, but I know that you would have regretted it if you hadn't. We will treasure our brief memories with Lexi forever. I'm sure she will be in your hearts forever!!

It was great to see Sophie. She looks really happy. It looks like she is in great hands and being taken care of by people that really love her. We will be praying for her and for your family's safe trip home. We can't wait to see all of you soon.

Precious, precious moments with little Sophie. That's so wonderful that you were able to hold her and see her in person. I'm praying for that little one.

I love the picture of Grace asleep at lunch! I remember how tiring that trip was on all of us, but those little ones are such troopers.
God bless you!

Sophie does look happy, healthy, and well cared for. We're so happy you got to see her, hold her, feed her, and post pictures of this little one that we've all been praying for and have come to love, too.
Gracie and Hope look like they've been sisters for years, not days!

Are you bringing home some new chicken recipes to share with your chicken keeping neighbor? Does a chicken foot taste like...chicken?

Can't wait to meet Hope!
